Advice and mentoring for the team at the El Palacio residential center

During two full days, the Interfaz team deployed training adapted to the specific needs of El Palacio, combining a historical, conceptual and strategic approach with a battery of practical tools applicable by the technical staff.

The first day combined a historical, typological, and strategic approach to the artist residency model. A genealogy was presented, tracing its evolution from 17th-century academies to contemporary formats focused on sustainability and participation. This was followed by a mapping of residency typologies and a comparative review of international models. The second part of the day focused on the local context and the center itself, with a collective reflection on the future vision of El Palacio, emphasizing its potential for building networks at a national and international level.

The second day focused on mentoring models within the residences, their various functions and effects: from technical support to personal growth and integration into local communities. Several case studies were analyzed, and the most common risks in cohabitation, production, and management were discussed, proposing realistic contractual structures and contingency protocols for their prevention. A final section was dedicated to identifying El Palacio's internal resources (equipment, team expertise, logistical limitations) and outlining support models consistent with its public mission.
